Holi At Prabalmachi!

Holi, the annual festival of colours that begins with lighting of a bonfire is also one of the most important festivals of the tribals of Prabalmachi. The trees that fall down during the monsoon are brought to the holi pit. A fig tree adorns the middle. A chain of coconuts is placed all over the tree. A pooja is Performed and the villagers wish upon the tree for blessings and promise to give offerings when their wishes are fulfilled. Next morning at 4 AM, newlyweds and the villagers circumambulate the structure and the fire is lit. The coconuts from the pyre are collected and used to make a delicious prasad which is distributed among everyone. Holi in the hills has its own charm augmented by the camping under starry sky, relishing on the local delicacies, barbeques, music, indulging in never ending conversations and making the most of the moment. We invite you to exPerience this unique ritual at Prabalmachi.
